Bornt and raised in Mauritius, I'm a 20 years old Sino-Mauritian who is also fluent in spoken and written English, French and Mauritian Creole. Living on an island rich in its original fauna and floral, I like to spend my free time in nature. Aside from hiking, snorkelling and coding - which are my main hobbies, I am particularly interested in photography. I shoot most of my pictures using my phone - an iPhone 5s or sometimes, when possible, I use my parent's camera. Some of my pictures can be seen in the Gallery Section.

Mauritius is a tiny tropical African island located in the Indian Ocean, off the East coast of Madagascar. The name "Mauritius" comes from Prince Maurice of Nassau of the Dutch Republic, which colonised the island between 1598 and 1710. It was then colonised by France between 1715 and 1810, until the United Kingdom took over in 1810 and governed until Mauritius had its independance in 1968. This explain why Mauritians are fluent in a least two languages(French and English). Mauritian Creole comes from the slaves, who were brought to the island. After the abolition of slavery, indentured labourers from India and Chinese merchants were brought to the island.

I am currently in my second year pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (Hons) at The University of Edinburgh, located in Scotland, UK. Being an international student who lived in a muticultural country previously, I was really interested in learning about cultures and histories from other countries and Edinburgh was a great start.
